The Turtle Cabin

The Turtle Cabin was located near Tulpehocken Road in Pennsylvania. Tulpehocken is derived from the Lenape word for “land of turtles.” This aptly named cabin was built in the late 1800’s. The timbers are mostly red oak and dovetailed. The footprint of the cabin is 32′ long x 28′ wide. The first floor is 8’1″ tall, the second floor to ceiling is 9′ and the attic floor to peak is 9’1.5″. The logs range from 10″ to 16″.
