Character Grade Oak Flooring
Character grade oak flooring is not antique, but it is antique in appearance. Character grade, when referring to material that is not reclaimed, means that you can expect the knots and imperfections typical of reclaimed oak flooring. These imperfections along with the random sizes of the boards create the look of a wide plank, antique floor. Character grade oak flooring is a good alternative for those who like the look of a floor with character, but prefer a more economical option than reclaimed flooring. This flooring can be run in widths up to 11.5″ and 85% lengths of 8′ – 14.’ It is sold unfinished, but milled and ready for installation.
“The heft and feel of a well-worn handle,
The sight of shavings that curl from a blade;
The logs in the woodpile, the sentiment of huge
beams in an old-fashioned house;
The smell of fresh cut timbers and the pungent
fragrance of burning leaves;
The crackle of kindling and the hiss of burning logs.
Abundant to all the needs of man, how poor the world would be without wood”
