Vintage Pepsi Cola Cooler

  • January 11th

Nothing is more nostalgic than soda pop from a vintage soda machine. This particular cooler is a model A-55 and is still in working condition! Keeps them icy cold. While it is certainly not restored, it is in good condition. The coin tender and bottle opener are still there. It is missing an interior bottle guide and the door for the change collector (on side).

Pepsi Cola was founded by Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist from North Carolina who invented the recipe himself in 1893. It was originally called “Brad’s Drink” in his pharmacy and he renamed it “Pepsi Cola” or “Pep Cola” after the key ingredients, pepsin and cola nuts. The original Pepsi colors were blue and white. Red was added during WWII as a show for Pepsi’s patriotism.
